Splendor in the Ass…
Posted by Chuck on October 6th, 2008
I spent a couple hours Sunday morning watching Splendor in the Grass for the first time ever. You know the classic 1961 Academy Award winning film, right? Natalie Wood plays Deanie and Warren Beatty is Bud. It’s all about sexual repression, love, heartbreak and blah blah blah. Deanie ends up in the crazy house cause she tries to be a good girl, listen to her mother and not give up the cooch. She doesn’t get any nut but ends up going nuts. That’s a bad trade off in my opinion. Meanwhile Bud goes off to Yale and finds three of the best things on earth; beer, pizza and pussy. If only they’d thrown in some hot wings he’d have had it all.
So I’m watching this movie and it occurs to me that all the problems, all of Deanie’s strife and grief and the money for her psychiatric care could have been saved and avoided if she’d have only spread those legs and let Bud park his beef bus in her tuna garage. That should be the real focus of this movie. When the book is read and taught in school this should be the direction the teacher takes in explaining the theme. (Let’s just make sure my daughter isn’t in that class though, okay?) Yeah, it’s true ladies. Listen to Professor Chuck. You’ll avoid a lot of heartache in life if you’ll just give up the cooch more often. Think of all the marriages that can be saved. If any of you need some practice you know where to find me!
Well later this morning I’ll be heading down to Mobile, Alabama for pretty much all week. I’ve got a food show there as well as some other meetings with customers. I appreciate those of you who kept me entertained last Tuesday during the food show I was working with your email, text messages and pictures. It made a pretty slow and boring day so much better! Feel free to do it again this time!
I’ll be in hotels during the evenings, sans roommate this time, so look forward to a future post with pictures and all kinds of Chuckie goodness. Speaking of future posts, my very own dot com will be ready to premier in the next few weeks. I’m trying to think of something exciting to do to kick off the brand spanking new blog. A few of the ideas I’ve had require your involvement. Well, you and your camera. What do you think? Want to help kick off the new blog in splendor? Perhaps a splendor in the ass? Cool, TTYL.
