Of the year!  College football season kicked off last night and I could not be any happier!

Those of you who live outside of the southern United States probably can’t fathom the excitement of college football.  Especially since you don’t live within the confines of the best and toughest conference, The Southeastern Conference, in the nation.  Well maybe you can fathom the excitement, but it’s just such a different atmosphere down here in Dixie.  Folks down here live and breathe football.  From the little league teams all the way through college.  Tonight I’ll be sitting in the steamy heat watching the local high school team play their season opener.  Not because I’ve got a kid on the team.  But just because I’ve got to support the local kids.  And also my daughter’s best buddy is in the band and I’m hoping I’ll be able to catch her when she trips and falls on the field during the half time show.  That girls a sweetie but she’s also a big klutz!

So, take the time if you can and tell me why you love football, if you do, and also the name of your favorite college team.  If you’re not a fan pretend like you are and hit me with your answer.  If you’re not sure what my response would be I’ll give you two guesses!

I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!  I’ll be spending mine watching a lot of good college football.  Especially Monday night at 7pm CT on ESPN!

Edit:  Well if I wasn’t sure who I was voting for that’s all changed now.  How about McCain has picked the hottest Vice President running mate in history.  I could handle having a MILF as VP.  Have y’all seen this Gov. Sarah Palin?  She’s kinda got a Tina Fey look about her and I like it!

Well happy Hump Day to you and yours!  It’s Wednesday which for me means nothing more than a night filled with watching boring television and no humping.  Maybe I’ll tune into that snooze fest also known as the Democrat National Convention.  Did any of you watch that hottie Hillary speak last night?  Yeah, me neither.

Speaking of hotties, Q and Snagley mentioned in my comments that they wanted to see me in a Speedo.  Yeah, I think that was what they said, although I might be wrong.  Anyway, I submit for your enjoyment me in a Speedo:

This was when I was into my guitar and dangerous weapon stage.  Probably around 1992.  Now I’m all about kittens and flutes, but my hair doesn’t look as good as it did back then so I won’t bore you with a more up to date picture.  Oh, and I also have better bedding now than then.

Last month was the four year blogoversary of my little corner of the Internet. In a little over four years I’ve taken probably three or four breaks from blogging. Twice, including this most recent time, I’ve laid off for five months. So out of 49 months I’ve been on a break for 10. In much of that time I’ve really missed it, but I felt stopping was detrimental to my success in other areas of my life. These past five months I can honestly say I haven’t missed it a whole lot. It’s been kind of nice. I’ve actually been able to go through life without analyzing everything that happens as to whether it was something that would be considered blog worthy. There were actually days, nay weeks where I literally forgot I had a blog. It was great! Having been a blogoholic in the past, it was quite kind of nice to realize that I could function efficiently without worrying about regularly updating, reading and commenting. I was able to completely put this whole chunk of my life behind me. I’m sure there are some of you reading this who can totally relate to what I’m saying.

Well, a couple days ago I made the decision to come back to it. I honestly believe that me being able to so easily step away has made it possible for me to step back in. Will I have what it takes to become a dedicated blogger again? I guess time will tell. In the meantime I’m back and I reckon I’ll dive in the pool like Phelps, although I don’t plan on winning any medals.

There has been some notable things that have happened since I’ve been gone. I’m sure I’ll mention a few of them before too long. Meanwhile I need to go hit the shower. It’s been three days since I last took one and my balls be stinkin!

Well, it looks like I’m back.  It’s been five months since I began my hiatus and let me tell ya, a lot can happen in five months time.  But first let me check the oil in this thing and make sure it’ll still run.  Well, it looks like one of the tires has started to dry rot.  Thats never a good thing.  I’ll have to get that changed.  But overall it’s lookin’ like the motor still hums and this blog is ready for me to commence updating once again.

This is just a quick update to let y’all know that I’m returning to the blogosphere.  I’ll hit ya back with an official update early next week.  Until then y’all have a great weekend!
