Well folks, I’ve only got a minute but I thought I’d hit you with a quick update. First I want to officially thank all of you for your congratulations on my two recent anniversaries; four years of marriage and three years of blogging! I really appreciate it all. Last week I was on the road the whole time with work. I spent four days down in Mobile and Daphne, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida. I’ve been all kinds of busy!
As I write this now I’m minutes away from an unplanned trip to Virginia. My great-grandfather passed away Saturday afternoon at the age of 95, so I’m headed to coal mining country to attend his funeral. I’m not sure if I’ll be back Wednesday or Thursday, but I’ll get back to (my version) of regular posting as soon as I can. Until then, I hope you all are doing well!

Three years ago today I put my first blog posts out onto the World Wide Web. I was very ambitious (or was it stupid?) and wrote three posts on that first day. If you’d like to check them out you can click here, here and here. Back then my blog was called “Marriage Made On-line“, then later it changed to “The Chuckster“. During this time I had my own dot com. For the last year and a half or so I’ve been known as “What’s Up Chuck?” First on Blogger and then here on Wordyblog. Okay, enough history…
I really can’t believe it’s been three years. I never thought I’d make it past three months, to be honest. Yeah there’s been a few hiatus’ and attempts to quit, but through it all I’m still kickin’! I’m sure I’ve got at least three more weeks left in me! Overall I’ve had a blast, and I’ve had the opportunity to make many, many excellent friends. For that I’m very thankful, and I really appreciate y’all reading and commenting. So….HAPPY THIRD BLOGOVERSARY TO ME!
I know I’ve asked these questions before, but it’s been a while and there are a lot of newer folks reading now, so I’m going to ask ‘em again:
1. As far as you can remember, when did you first discover my blog?
2. Who, or what other site, first made you aware of my blog?
Oh yeah, thanks to all of you for Susan and my anniversary well wishes on the last post! I’ll write more about that soon.

Four years ago today Susan and I got hitched. Can’t believe it’s already been four years! We’re currently out of town together working, as well as working on our baby making skills. Tonight we’ll go out somewhere nice for dinner then come home and resume the fertilization process. Y’all wish us luck!
I thought I’d include a picture of the two of us, striking a romantic pose on our last vacation. Enjoy…

Okay so maybe that picture isn’t actually us, but if you’d like you can click over and read the anniversary post I wrote on this day back in 2005. It kinda touches on the details of our wedding and rocky first year together. Luckily things are 150% better now than they were back then. There is also a real picture of the two of us on that post. Enjoy, and try not to laugh. Click on it to make it bigger if you’re brave. I’m not really as goofy looking as I look in that picture! Actually, maybe I am….

Check out the low carb dinner I had tonight. Smoked sausage with Gulden’s spicy brown mustard. Looks delish doesn’t it? I’m always wanting to share my culinary experiences with you all in the written and photographic form, so I thought I’d include this picture. I just happened to have been holding the plate about waist high when I snapped the pic. It was totally unintentional and coincidental of course.
Also, please note the major gout filled joint in the big toe of my right foot. Look painful? Actually it’s not….right now. I haven’t had a flare up in a few weeks. Y’all should see some of the other pictures I took. A fellow can have a lot of fun with a long piece of sausage. (That didn’t sound too gay did it?)
I had one of the most laid back weekends in recent memory. I did nothing but lay around on my ass and watch movies. I even took the kids out to see a movie. Transformers. I highly recommend it. The special effects were incredible. All in all I bet I watched 9 movies in the 72 hours from Friday to Sunday night. One that I watched, The Money Pit, I hadn’t seen in about ten years. I had forgotten how hilarious it is.
I know I’ve mentioned this on here a few times in the past three years, but it would (possibly now) seem that for once, Susan and I are seriously thinking about getting her good and knocked up. I over heard her telling her good friend on the phone tonight that she thinks she just might be ready to have a baby. I can think of nothing more fun than trying. Especially the kind of trying where I don’t have to pull out to finish, if you know what I mean. But are we ready for this? I’m 38 and she’s 36…are we too old to start all the baby stuff? Well, I’m about 65% sure we are. Actually who is really ready when they get pregnant? It would be a lot of changes to adjust to, but I think the adjusting would be worth it. After all, I think there should be one more child that can benefit from my excellent parental skills! I think we should just throw caution to the wind, let the chips fall where they may and see how it all turns out. I’ll let y’all know how it works out. We’re going out of town together overnight Wednesday for work. We both have appointments in the same town so we figured we’d just make a little romantic getaway out of it. Then Thursday is our four year wedding anniversary. I’m seeing a lot of hot monkey love making in our near future. I’ll be sure to post pictures….or not!

I just want to thank all of you who have expressed your concerns about my defecating issues. It’s really touched me. It’s touched me in a very special way, and place. I just wish I could show you all how warm it’s made me feel. Your prayers, cards and letters have been appreciated.
Well, it’s official. I didn’t want it to happen, but it has. I’ve become addicted to Showtime’s Big Brother After Dark which is aired every night from 11pm to 2am CST. I just can’t turn away from it. For a Big Brother fan it’s all kinds of educational. For example, in just five nights of watching I’ve learned the following:
- It’s fun to watch two chicks take a shower together
- It’s not so much fun to watch two dudes shower together
- One guy regularly has his ass crack waxed
- Cooter cleavage, also known as camel toe, looks better in a wet bikini versus a dry one
- Non gay guys acting gay is pretty gay
- Black girls have to go through a lot to get their hair looking all fly and shit
- There is such a thing as too many piercings
- It is possible to feel like a heifer when one is menstrual
- Wearing dark panties and white pants = major hotness
There are many many more observations I’ve taken away from my wasted hours of watching this show, but I’ll stop for now. Perhaps I’ll update again sometime so y’all can keep in the BB loop. I’m sure you’d just love that. Seriously, I’ve got to quit staying up till 2 and get to bed at a reasonable hour like midnight. I’ve decided I’ll start TiVoing the show, then I can just fast forward to the good parts like I do everyday with All My Children, The View, Guiding Light, Maury, Divorce Court, Young and the Restless, Oprah and Dr. Phil. What’s one more show to watch, right?

So, how y’all been doing? I sure hope my fellow American readers had a nice Fourth of July holiday. I sure did. The kids and I spent a wonderful few days up at my parent’s house in Tennessee. Unfortunately Susan had to work since she hasn’t been at her new job long enough to take vacay time just yet. The kids and I got to spend some good times with my parents, my sister, her boyfriend, their new lab puppies and my favorite uncle. It was a great time, but it is good to be home now.
I’ve just realized it’s been over a week since I’ve last posted. There’s been a bit going on in my life, so instead of telling you all about it in paragraph form I thought I’d revert to how I used to sometimes do things, and just bullet point ‘em all. That way it’ll be easier for y’all to skim. As usual there might be one or two that will undoubtedly prove to be TMI.
- I smoked a brisket and several racks of ribs on the Fourth. It was my first experience with really smoking food in an actual smoker. I was so worried about it the night before, I hardly slept. A lot of people were counting on the meat turning out deliciously. Thankfully it did. I appreciate Julie and her husband for all their smoking advice!
- I spent every thirty minutes or so on July second through the fourth on the toilet with violent diarrhea. I must have had some kind of virus or something. It was rough I tell ya. Talk about dehydration…
- Mike, aka Slicksombich, and I have decided to make a bit of a wager on the outcome of the Tennessee/Georgia football game. He’s even made an interesting video post about it. Be sure to check it out. Hopefully you’ll be able to understand what he’s saying. After all he does have one of them there backwards Georgia accents. The interesting thing about this wager is that we’re letting our blog readers choose what Slick will have to do once the Dawgs fall to the Volunteers. Y’all feel free to give us your two cents worth. (By the way Slick, I told you wrong on the date of the game. It’ll be played on October 6th this year. Getting nervous yet?)
- I’ve discovered that sleeping on a well inflated air mattress can sometimes be more comfortable than a regular bed.
- I find myself thinking more and more often that plural marriage could be the way to go, as long as all the wives held good full time jobs and still took care of me and the home.
- I realized this morning that it’s been right around four months since I quit smoking. A week ago today I gave up drinking alcohol. I’m thinking I’m not going to be much fun to hang around. It’s a good thing I’m not planning any vows of celibacy anytime soon.
- Once again I’ve dived head first into Big Brother this summer. I even added Showtime to my Direct TV account so I can watch the Big Brother After Dark live uncensored shit every night on television. I’ve watched it non stop now for three nights and I’ve yet to see any bare boobies, but there has been plenty of wet bikini clad ones. All they seem to do is sit around eating ice cream and talking about boring shit, although I did hear Zach say last night that he had a 10 pound cock. Is that like really possible? I thought my eight pounder was as big as they get. Also it’s worth mentioning that I watched Jen get out of the hot tub last night, and (with the camera focused from behind) bend over to pull up her shorts and show her bikini clad cooter pouch nestled nicely between her slightly separated thighs.
- My old college roommate, Bo Snagley, had his fortieth birthday yesterday. Believe it or not he doesn’t look, or smell, too bad to be so old! Happy Birthday Snag! I’ll be taking you to lunch soon, and returning your precious “The Office” DVD too.
- July is my three year blogoversary month. I reckon I’ll need to be planning something special to celebrate. Y’all have any ideas? If you’d like you could send me pictures of your boobage or maybe even your cooter pouch. That would make it much more fantastical celebration, don’t you think?
Well believe it or not, as hard as I try, I can’t think of anything else worthwhile to add to this post. Pretty sad huh? I could stick a few pictures in here, but I’m sure y’all are tired of those after the last two posts. At least I’ve heard from one of you who thought so. Y’all have a good week and I’ll be back again in a day or two to bore you again. Don’t forget to let us know what you think about the football bet.
