Hiatus…

Posted by Chuck on 27th April 2007

Well folks it looks like Chuck’s going to need to take a blogging break. I have more work going on than I can handle in a days time. I’ll just need to put this on the back burner for a while. It may be a few days, a month, three….can’t really tell right now. But I do plan on hopefully coming back. In the meantime I’ll read you guys when I can.

Don’t y’all forget about your old friend Chuckie!!

Hope you are all well. Talk to you soon!

Young Chuck’s Sexual Education…

Posted by Chuck on 23rd April 2007

You may find this post to be a bit TMI, but when has that ever stopped me from sharing…or stopped you from reading, for that matter. Today I’m going to share with y’all how my parents taught me about the birds and the bees.

It was a day now lost to time, but it occurred sometime in 1981 during my sixth grade year. My Mother handed me a book called, “Parent’s Answer Book”, copy write 1969.

As you know, from reading the last post, my kids and I went to Tennessee to hang out with my parents for a few days vacation. On the first night I was there, my mom mentioned she’d found that old book she gave me about “how to have sex”. I was curious, because I’m always looking for some blog fodder, and told her I hadn’t seen that in years. She motioned me to one of the side wing storage rooms upstairs and said that it was in a box up there somewhere. The next day I went up looking for some of my old beginner reader books for my son and there, beside “Danny and the Dinosaur” was my long lost instructional book. Standing in the storage room and flipping through it I just knew I had to share my experiences with that book. Here’s a picture of the cover. Looks like the perfect Nixon era family, don’t you think?

Reading through it today at 38 I noticed something I’m not sure I noticed when I first read it at twelve. The entire book is written for parents and lists ways they can bring up the subject, discuss and explain the wonders of male and female body parts and reproduction. So it was actually an instructional manual for moms and dads to use to teach their kids. I wonder why my experience with the book was not in the way it was intended? Hmmm…Since I’ve been an adult my mom once told me how she had innocently asked her mother what the word “fuck” meant. (Of course in the re-telling she used the term “the F word” to describe what she’d said.) Her mother promptly set the iron down and slapped her across the face. In retrospect perhaps my dear mommy was afraid of being confronted with such possible scenarios.

Anyway I spent years with the book close at hand. It was kept in the little wicker magazine rack next to the toilet behind the Redbook and People mags. There were quite a few times I’d sit there taking my after football practice dump, flipping through and reading about vagina, vulva, clitoris, the hymen and Fallopian tubes. I’m proud to say that such reading would usually dive me to masturbation (not mentioned in the book, by the way) where I’d promptly ejaculate (is mentioned) into a rolled up wad of toilet paper (not suggested). This went on for years.

Reading through it again I found that there is a section called “100 Questions And Answers”. Since I’m your friend I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you here…

What is making love? I could show you pictures

What is an orgasm? What does it mean to “come”? Again, a ton of self pics…

What is petting and heavy petting? This one used to get my imagination going. Let’s run the bases baby…

What is a penis? (A penis is a man’s sex organ. It hangs on the outside of his body and is the size of a large thumb.) I can remember reading that one, and doing the same thing I did the other night when I read it again…I compared my dick to my thumb. I thought, as I did back then, there really must be some hella large thumbs out there cause mines much bigger than a thumb! Maybe they had smaller peni back in the 60’s.

Does the size of a man’s penis say anything about his masculinity? Uh, duh?

What is a wet dream? Only had two in my life, if you’re taking notes.

How can you tell if a girl is a virgin? I still wonder about this one…something about getting blood on your junk, right?

Are people born homosexuals? The books answer… no….and the book says a homo can change if they want to. Uh, hello? That’s not what Rosie O. believes.

And there were wonderful illustrations…

My favorite part has to be the chapter where they give you ideas of how and where to talk to your child about sex. For the Mother they suggest a long drive in the country where you can keep your eyes on the road and not have to look at the child. Then there is being on your hands and knees waxing the floor. That way you can concentrate on your work, and not the child. (yeah I can think of better ways for Mom to spend time on her knees…) For dad they suggest talking with your son while piddling around in the garage or basement. What? You shouldn’t invite them into the room to watch old Mom and Pop go at it? I did witness this at my friends house, with his parents being the fornicating subjects….but that’s another story for another day.

Well, there you go. A little fun look back into my childhood and my sexual development. And you wonder why I’m so messed up today?

My boss is in town working with me for the next couple days. May be mid week or later till I can get back with y’all. Have a good one!

Chuck’s Mini Vacation…

Posted by Chuck on 19th April 2007

We had a nice little spring break get-a-way at my parent’s home. I took the kids, (Susan had to stay home and work), and we spent three days hanging out in beautiful East Tennessee. On Tuesday the kids and I drove over to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for a day of excitement in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. We went to the Aquarium of the Smokies and enjoyed looking at the all the fish, including the man eating sharks. We spent a couple hours there and then we went and had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe.

This is one of the several street shots I took while we walked along the sidewalk.

As we were walking back to the car we passed a chair lift thing where you could ride up to the top of the mountain and back again. For some reason I got the urge to take the ride and I talked the kids into joining me. I normally wouldn’t have even considered it due to my fear of heights. I paid the $30 and had my daughter get in the chair in front and the boy and I got in the one behind her. I took this as we were going up.

Here’s me and the boy. We were quite a few feet off the ground. Can you see the fear in my face?

And here’s the view from the top, looking down on the town. Hard to tell in this picture, but it’s quite a view.

It was a much needed little break for all of us, but we’re back home now. I’ve got a big day of catching up with work on Friday then it’s the weekend. Wow, I just realized this is the first time I’ve shown pictures of my kids on my blog. I doubt it’ll become a habit. Besides, if you want to be a stalker freak you’ll have to get through me first!

Oh, I almost forgot…I took a video while we were coming back down the mountain. I’ve tried for the past hour to figure out how to post the damn thing and can’t get it right. Instead I’ll offer you the opportunity to click on this link if you’d like to see it. It’s pure cinematic genius!

Who’s your Hot Daddy Blogger?

Posted by Chuck on 15th April 2007

Hey, guess what? A blogger friend of mine nominated me for a blogger choice award in what must be the most appropriate category ever!  How cool is that?  Of course I’ve known for years that I’m one hot daddy, but it’s so nice to have that fact recognized by others! ;)   Y’all feel free to click on the button and give me your vote.  The chances of winning are slim to none, but that’s all right.  We all know who’s really the top hot daddy blogger, right?  Okay, you don’t have to answer that….

Taking the kids out of town today for Spring Break.  Yeah, I know….we’re having our SB late this year.  I’ll try to post something in a day or two.  I got me a brand new Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop with a 17″ screen, so I’ve got to keep breaking it in.

Later…

Chuck’s A Busy Boy….

Posted by Chuck on 11th April 2007

Hello dear friends!  I’d just like to apologize for being such a shitty blogger, comment responder, commenter and blog reader lately.  I’ve just been in the weeds big time.  If you’ve never worked in a restaurant and aren’t familiar with the term, “in the weeds” then I’m sorry for confusing you.  In other words, I’ve been slammed non stop with work.  For the past two days I’ve been on the road, although not overnight, traveling around Birmingham, making customer and enduser calls.  It’s been hectic.  Plus Susan’s started her job so I have to get all my crap done in time to get home by three when my son gets off the bus.  Then Monday night we had a soccer game and last night we had practice….whew!

Part of my doubled efforts this weeks are due to the fact I’m taking much of next week off.  It’ll be spring break for my kids and I’m going to take them to Knoxville to hang out with my parents for a few days.  So, I say all of the above to simply say this….I won’t be updating my blog for the next week or two.  I doubt I’ll be reading many blogs either.  I’m going to focus on what’s important for a while then come back and entertain (yeah right) y’all again.  So, if you still haven’t heard from me by the twenty-third don’t be alarmed.  I’ll get back when I can!  Y’all take care!

Are You Lucky?

Posted by Chuck on 9th April 2007

Football, Jack Daniels, a beautiful smile….and boobs. Could there be anything else to make this the perfect woman? Well, I can think of one thing….all she needs is a big plate of hot wings, with a side of blue cheese dressing. That would make this perfection! What would you add?

Well I sure hope you all had a great weekend. I did. Very relaxing and satisfying all around. I even had sex four times and, believe it or not, I wasn’t alone when each time happened. That’s some kind of record for me. I ain’t seen that kind of frequency in like three years. Maybe I’m becoming like some kind of sex god or something.

How about the Sopranos tonight? What a great beginning to the last nine episodes. I’m going to really miss that show once it’s gone. It’s hard to believe it’s been since January 1999 that it first premiered on HBO. I’ve been there since the start.

Happy Monday!

Happy Easter!!

Posted by Chuck on 6th April 2007

So….this must be how easter eggs are made….I’d always wondered…

Well, I sure hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend! I’m off today, Good Friday, and Susan and I have had a good time together shopping and dinning out for lunch. I’m letting my ex have the kids this weekend, a first for a holiday weekend, but I’m not too concerned about it. I’ll get them back early afternoon on Sunday, just in time to let them have their easter baskets and have the delicious easter dinner I will have made. Plus it’s been three weeks now since she’s had the kids on a weekend. I’m ready for a little Chuck and Susie time for a change!

Speaking of Susan, she starts her new job on Monday. She went out the other day to get her hair cut in preparation for the new career. She went to this major high dollar spa place and got, in my opinion, the worst cut she’s ever had. Her hair looks like a cross between Rod Stewart circa 1978 and Hillary Clinton. But then again it’s her head and she likes it. I reckon that’s what matters, right? Hell, I’ll just do her doggie style (as I did this morning…yay me!) till the hair grows back. That way I won’t have to look at her in the face! Okay, just kidding….

Okay, gonna post this now before I get myself in more trouble. Happy Easter!

A quick hello, then I got to run….

Posted by Chuck on 2nd April 2007

Edit:  4-3-07  Yep, I’m still in Mobile working my ass off.  I thought I’d leave an edit and mention something I had intended to mention yesterday, but forgot.  Yesterday was the four year anniversary of the divorce from my first wife, F.A.  My how the time has flown and it’s certainly been an interesting four years.  That is all…

Man, I hope your weekend was as good as mine. I had wonderful family time both Saturday and Sunday. We dined together, shopped, watched movies, had another soccer game (they won again and my son scored a goal!), stocked up at Sams and ate some killer fillet mignon…twice. Spending time with the ones you love most is really awesome!

Today I head out of town for yet another food show. I’ll be in Mobile, Alabama till Wednesday. This time I’ll be going alone. Susan found out on Friday that she’s been hired with a national company she’d been interviewing with over the past couple weeks. It’s really a great opportunity and she’s very excited. The base pay is fifteen thousand more a year than she was making before, with the potential for a lot more in commissions and bonuses. And they pay a car allowance and provide a cell phone. She’s really lucked out. I’ve kinda gotten used to her being home these past four weeks, but her earning again will be even better!

Way to go Lady Vols on your 56-50 win over UNC last night! It was awesome to watch, and scary at times. Tuesday night The University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers will play Rutgers for the National Championship, and I’ll be watching! GO VOLS!!

Well that’s about it. I gotta run. I hope you all had as wonderful a weekend as I did. Tell me about something fun or crazy you did! Talk to ya in a few days…

P.S. If any of y’all are fans of the reality show, The Bachelor, you might want to tune in tonight at 9:30/8:30 CST. A good friend of Susan’s, from her old job, is one of the contestants this season. Just look for the girl from Alabama who works in radio. Susan actually had drinks with her Saturday night, but she wouldn’t talk about the details of the show. Some kind of confidentiality agreement. Anyway, it should be fun to watch.
