Back At Home…..

Posted by Chuck on 28th November 2004

The Thanksgiving trip was nice. We had a okay Turkey Day meal with many of my family from my Mother’s side. Was great to see everyone and have Susan meet them, but much of the meal wasn’t much to write home about. Not that the food wasn’t any good, its just that my family is so large, and the food is served buffet style, so if you’re not first in line you may miss out on some of the goodies. Susan and I concluded that salt must not have been used in 70% of the cooking. There was much blandness in many of the dishes. But like I said, it was good seeing family. My Grandmother is 84 now, and I hadn’t seen her in a little over a year. She and I have always been close. Since my Mother was 17 when she gave birth to me, I spent a lot of my early years with her parents, my Granny and Grandaddy. Grandaddy died in ‘91 and I am glad that I was there to be with him as he took his last breath. It is sad to think that Granny won’t be with us forever. Just hard to imagine when I look at that sweet little woman. I love her so much!

We had a great time spent with Susan’s sister and her husband and kids. They have a beautiful home there in the same Georgia town where we were having my family gathering. The In-laws headed to S.C. to spend Thanksgiving with his family and let Susan and I crash at their house while they were away. Susan’s sister suggested we try out their hot tub for sex, and we decided to give it a whirl (get it? Whirl, is in pool? Okay….). Never being one for “water sex”, it didn’t go too well, but we finished what we started later in a more drier environment.

Friday night the In-laws returned from their trip to South Carolina and we all had a awesome time talking, drinking and eating. Their three kids and our two also had fun watching movies and playing video games. This was really the first time we had all been together since being married, they married earlier this year, and it was great getting to know each other. I see many more fun family times in the future, if Susan and I stay married. Saturday morning we drove the three hour trip back to Birmingham, and spent most of the rest of the day watching the rain and doing laundry.

Oh yeah, Friday was my 36th birthday. Had it not been for my Mother and Aunt I doubt anyone would have recognized it. Sucks when so many who are close to you couldn’t give a shit. Not that I was wanting gifts or a cake, I am well past that, it would just have been nice to be made to feel a little special. God, I feel OLD! Hey, at least my ex wife remembered, and wished me BD greetings on the phone Thursday night. Today is her birthday….happy BD FA!

Susan and I have tomorrow off, then it is back to the grind stone once again. I have a lot of things to get done, work wise, before everything pretty much shuts down for Christmas. If my posting isn’t too frequent, just know that I am busy making the big bucks! LOL

Came across a few blogs lately that are good reading. Check them out sometime when you get a chance and tell ‘em Chuck sent you! I also have them linked over there on the left side of the page, they are the bottom eight.

Later ya’ll…..
